CRAFT a life you love.

Hello, October Blog

October is a month for being thankful and reflecting on your journey. As the leaves change colours in the Fall we are reminded that change is both inevitable and beautiful.

October is about trees revealing colours that they have hidden all year.
People have Octobers too.
-Jm Storm

Perhaps this quote is the most accurate representation of how Fall is symbolic of my life.

Over the years I have hidden many colours from myself and the people around me. As my hidden colours were slowly rediscovered, I hesitated to reveal them to the rest of the world. Why? It’s simple - FEAR.

Years of abuse has made me a reserved person. Only a handful of people in my life know the depth of my story.

From teenage mom, divorced mom, single mom, cancer and more trials and tribulations in between, my life has been a roller coaster. A shaky, scary wooden one, not the fun, exhilarating kind. Some people have told me I should write a memoir but I think some pages should be left unturned.

Sarcasm concealed my wounds. Crafting became my therapy and eventually healed them.

Plot twist: If someone told me that I would leave my career in my mid-40s to start a business that would quickly surpass my financial goals in its first year, I would have laughed them out of the room...and made a sarcastic comment of course. It turns out that commuting 5 days a week to crunch numbers all day isn’t the key to happiness. Who knew?

Moral of the story: Life is short so chase after your goals. It's never too late to do what makes you happy. As a once self-conscious person now turned entrepreneur, my only regret is that I didn't take this leap sooner.

My advice to you is:

👊 Live without regret.

👊 Be the person you KNOW you are.

👊 Prove them all wrong.

If you are contemplating starting your own business, don't let fear be the only thing that stops you. Do the things that make you happy and everything else will fall into place.

Is it challenging? Yes.

Is it rewarding? Absolutely.

Is it scary? More than you know.

But, don't trust me. Trust the process.

Watch out world...my colours are ready and here I come.
